Where results go
Each automation has one destination. The reply and the files it built go there on every run.
In app
The default. The chat of the run appears in your chat list, named after the automation and the time, with the answer and the result in it. You get a notification in the app when it lands.
Use it for results you open at your desk: a dashboard, a report you page through, a deck you download.
Email
The reply arrives as an email at the address of your account. Files are attached up to 15 MB; larger ones are linked to the chat of the run. Nothing to set up.
Telegram
The reply and the files arrive as a message from the Tabloy bot in your personal chat with it. Connect Telegram once; every automation can use it. See Telegram and Slack.
Slack
The reply and the files arrive as a direct message from the Tabloy app in your Slack workspace. Connect Slack once. See Telegram and Slack.
What is sent
- The answer as text, formatted for the channel.
- Files the run built: a PDF, an Excel file, a deck. Ask for the file in the request ("as a PDF") and it comes with the message.
- A link to the chat of the run, so you can ask a follow-up or open a dashboard.
When nothing is sent
With Notify: Only when there is something new, a run whose result matches the last one delivers nothing. The run log shows Nothing new, not sent. See Put a task on a schedule.
Failures
A failed run sends a short notice to the destination: what went wrong and a link to the automation. After three failures in a row the automation pauses and the notice says so.
Replying to the bot
The Telegram bot and the Slack app deliver results; they do not answer messages. To change a task, edit the automation in Tabloy. To ask a follow-up, open the chat of the run from the link.
