Get the app

The Tabloy app is Tabloy on your computer. It has the same chat as app.tabloy.ai. It can also work with what is on your computer. It reads your files and databases. It changes documents in your folders and builds apps that run right there.

One account works in the app and in the browser.

What you need

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 12 or newer.
• About 5 GB of free disk space.
• The internet for Tabloy models. With a model on your computer the app works offline too. See Without the internet.

Install on Windows

1. Open tabloy.ai/download and press Windows.
2. The Microsoft Store opens. Press Get.
3. Open Tabloy from the Start menu.

Install on a Mac

1. Open tabloy.ai/download and press macOS.
2. Open the downloaded file and drag Tabloy into Applications.
3. Open Tabloy from Applications.

The download is for Macs with Apple silicon (M1 and newer). On a Mac with an Intel processor, use the Intel version.

If macOS says it cannot check the app, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Near the bottom there is a line about Tabloy. Press Open Anyway. You do this only once.

The first start

The first time, the app sets up its chat on your computer. On Windows everything it needs comes with the app, so this takes about a minute and needs no internet. On a Mac it downloads what the chat needs, which takes a few minutes.

Sign in

Signing in gives the chat Tabloy models. It also lets you connect databases and share dashboards, if your plan includes them.

1. Press Sign in. Your browser opens tabloy.ai.
2. Sign in there, or create an account.
3. The browser says you are signed in. Go back to the app. It continues by itself.

You don't have to sign in. Press Use a model on this computer or Not now. The chat then works with models on your computer, and your files and dashboards work as usual. You can sign in later at the bottom of the side panel.

Answers from Tabloy models count on your plan's AI limits the same way as in the browser. Your account at the bottom of the side panel shows how much of them is used. See Account and plans.

Find your way around

The first screen asks What would you like to know? Type your request in the box, or start from a button under it: Website, Slides, Document, Spreadsheet, App, Dashboard or Work in a folder. Your recent files stand under the buttons, in Your data.

The side panel on the left has:

• New chat: a fresh conversation.
• Dashboards: every dashboard you made.
• Data: your files and databases.
• Files: everything the assistant made for you, from all chats.
• Apps: the apps the assistant built. Start and stop them here.
• Skills: how you want some kinds of work done.
• Privacy: what the assistant can reach and what leaves your computer.
• Projects and Chats: your conversations.

At the bottom are Switch to offline mode and your account. Press your account and choose Settings for the language, the appearance, shortcuts and models on your computer.
