Files on your computer ​

The app can change a file on your computer, or work in a whole folder. You see each change before it is written, and you can undo it afterwards.

Change one file ​

  1. Press + in the message box and choose Edit a file on this computer.
  2. Pick the file.
  3. Ask for the change: "add a row for October to the table", "fix the typos", "move slide 4 after slide 6".

The changes open next to the chat. Press Apply changes to write them, or Discard. Nothing is written to the file before that.

Word documents and slide decks keep their look. A new table row or a new heading looks like the ones next to it. Excel workbooks keep their formulas.

Work in a folder ​

Press Work in a folder under the message box and choose a folder. The assistant can then read and search the files in it, change them, make new ones and run commands there.

Good uses:

  • "Sort the invoices in this folder into subfolders by month"
  • "Make a summary of every PDF here in one Word document"
  • "Find the contracts that end this year and list them in a table"

The assistant works only in the folder you chose and the folders inside it.

You decide what changes ​

  • Changing a file. Before a file of yours changes, you see the change and press Apply changes or Discard. Press Always apply in this chat if you trust the rest of the chat.
  • New files are written at once, so you can watch a document or a site appear.
  • Deleting. Removing a file or a folder always waits for your yes in its own window.
  • Commands. A command runs after your yes, until you allow commands for the chat or the folder. A command that deletes your files asks again, every time.

When you choose the folder, you can also let the chat change files without asking, or give it full access.

Undo ​

Before the assistant changes a file, Tabloy keeps a copy. Under the answer you see which files changed. Undo puts all of them back as they were.

What the assistant made ​

Documents, decks, spreadsheets, websites and pictures from all your chats are in Files in the side panel. Open one, show it in its folder or delete it. Under each answer you can also open what was made, save a copy, or show it in its folder.
