Research a question
Switch on Research before you send. Tabloy searches the web, reads the pages, compares what they say and links every claim in the answer to its source.
When to use it
Use Research when the answer depends on facts outside the chat: prices, rules, dates, what a company offers, what changed this year. For a question the model can answer from what it knows, leave it off; the answer is faster and does not use a research run.

Switch it on
- Write the question.
- Press Research next to the message box. It shows how many runs you have left this month.
- Send.
Research is per message: the switch turns itself off after the message goes out. Turn it on again for the next question that needs it.
What happens
The chat shows the progress: Researching the web, then Searching (3 of 6 queries), then Verifying sources. Behind that:
- Tabloy splits your question into several searches and runs them at once.
- It reads the pages, not just the search snippets.
- It compares what the pages say, marks what is confirmed by more than one source and what is disputed.
- It writes the answer from those findings, with numbered citations.
A run takes from half a minute to a few minutes, depending on the question.
The answer
The answer reads like any other, with [1], [2] after claims. A research card under the answer opens the full picture: the findings, the sources, the plan. See Reading the findings.
Follow-up questions
Ask the next question in the same chat. The findings stay in context, so "and how does that compare with last year?" keeps its sources. Switch Research on again only if the follow-up needs new searches.
With your data
Research works in a chat with a dataset or a database too. Outside facts sit next to your numbers in the same answer, and in a report or a deck built from that chat.
In automations
An automation can research the web on every run: "every Friday, check competitor prices and summarize the changes". See Automations.
Runs and limits
Each research run counts once: 5 a month on Trial, 50 on Pro, 150 on Pro+. A run that fails is not counted. When the month's runs are used up, the message is answered without new research and the chat says so. See Limits.
Sometimes Tabloy decides that a message with Research on does not need the web (a greeting, a request to rephrase). It says Web research was not needed for this message and answers as usual. No run is used.
